· National Australia Group Europe were piloting the introduction of Agile on their largest “Back Office” change programme when ensuring compliance with FATCA. As Scrum Master, Alastair Majury ensured that there was a good relationship between all elements of the development team, including clearing prior obstacles and politics, and with the Product Owner. Providing regular feedback to Senior Stakeholders who had an interest both in the success of the FATCA element, and the introduction of Scrum to National Australia Group Europe. This resulted in successful delivery of the programme ensuring compliance and a positive first introduction to Scrum.

Senior Business Data Analyst — Victim Support Scotland

Alastair Majury working with Victim Support Scotland and other Scottish Tech Army volunteers to introduce Microsoft 365 and Azure technologies to the organisation, and the creation of a Volunteer database with a SharePoint front end, to view and manage relevant data.

· Providing Prototypes to aid with remote workshops

· Produced Tactical solution until formal Database solution can be implemented

· Volunteer database utilising Microsoft Dynamics 365 as preferred solution, for better integration with other elements utilising Microsoft Dynamics 365

November 2016 to Present: Majury Change Management: Consultant

Shree Partners: Principal Consultant/Scrum Master Statement of Work and Platform Upgrade (Birmingham and Milton Keynes) July 2019 — June 2020

  • Alastair Majury was Engaged as a Scrum Master on behald of Shree Partners as their sole onshore representative at a potential Financial Services client’s sites.
  • The programme served as the first adoption of Agile and Scrum, I was responsible for both coaching the Product Owner, and onshore (client’s) development team with the Agile Methodology and mindset, and ensure a good relationship between all team members, and stakeholders.
  • Introducing the organisation to Behavioural Driven Development (BDD) as part of the introduction of Agile to the introduction.
  • Robotics process automation — Delivered a 52% operational, and 15% quality assurance efficiency through robotic process automation. Solution extracted, read and matched data points across 30+ antiquated data sources with a capability of 500+ automated decisions. Royal Bank of Scotland — Senior Business Analyst: Ring-fencing Regulatory and Customer Due Diligence programmes(Edinburgh) September 2017 — June 2019

· Alastair Majury was Engaged as Senior Business Analyst on ring-fencing regulatory and customer due diligence programmes. UK ring-fencing legislation requires each large UK bank to separate its retail banking activity from the rest of its business.

· Part of 4-person Trade Services project team. Personally, focused on Supply Chain Finance and Funded Trade products.

· Reviewed Trade and Legal Documentation to establish governing law and ensured all foreign law facilities reviewed by legal to enable smooth transfer.

· Ensured beneficiaries and clients included ring-fencing comms and produced communications material for Relationship Managers and other colleagues.

· Supported colleagues in sourcing facility documentation for Trade Western Europe clients.

· Supported adoption of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) for Customer Due Diligence (CDD) processes. Also, assisted with creation of VBA macros of RPA for CDD.

· Worked directly with Relationship Managers and suppliers to customers to complete legal transfers.

BNP Paribas — Senior Data Business Analyst: Data Hub Shared Services Centre project (London)

February 2017 — August 2017

· Alastair Majury was Engaged as Senior Business Data Analyst in Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) working on a Big Data Hub Shared Services Centre project, including Data Processing Pipelines, Data Lakes, Cloud Computing, Hadoop, etc

· Project was producing global data hub to provide end-to-end data management services including Data Governance, Data Quality and real-time data intelligence to support Data Analytics and Exploration.

· Senior Business Analyst on Data Hub SSC services team working with colleagues in Paris and India.

· Produced service catalogue and cross-functional process flows for Data SSC services. Also, undertook defect management in the Dev and UAT environments

Legal & General: HMRC Driven Annual Regulatory Programme of Work (Hove) November 2016 — January 2017

· Alastair Majury was Lead BA on Tax Year 2017/18 project producing requirements for both Mature Savings and Defined Contribution Workplace Pensions

· Lead BA on UNIPEN (legacy pensions system) Pre-Production project — producing requirements to ensure the key legacy system has a fit for purpose testing environment.

Future Williams & Glyn: Senior Technical BA (contract) November 2015 to August 2016:

· Alastair Majury was Engaged as member of the W&G Technology Change department as part of the creation of the future Williams and Glyn (W&G) challenger bank.

· Assisted in stand-up of the IT Change organisation as part of a key programme team that established a strategic IT Change Team to form a responsive and Agile IT service change capability, leveraging the strategic technology partners.

· Member of multiple project teams depending on business requirements.

· Lead BA supporting development of “Change the Bank” and “Run the Bank” outsourcing contract; and creation of Change TSA with retained RBS; developing W&G CIO end to end project lifecycle flow.

· Lead BA developing W&G CIO end to end project lifecycle target operating models for both Agile and Waterfall development models ready for implementation

· Developed Service Introduction’s “Governance on a Page” and Test Assurance’s capability measurement form (Excel VBA Macro).

· Began looking at PSD2 for W&G and responsible for requirements traceability matrix.

Key Projects

Mortgage Market Review Project: Senior Data Business Analyst on FCA regulatory project to enhance the existing Sales (PSD 001) report and to create a new Performance (PSD 007) report.

· Supported creation of a new Data Mart gathering information from 10 source systems

· Working closely as a Data Analyst with Enterprise Data Services and Enterprise Data Management and with front/back-end business units (including Fin Rep) to enhance process and correct DQIs.

· Created new Target Operating Model and Control Framework for Finance Regulatory Reporting

· Acted as Data Scientist to explore and examine data from multiple disparate sources and to communicate findings to both business and IT leaders.

· Acted as Data Analyst, deciding and documenting data flows, data transformations, and data lineage.

· Filled organisation gap acting as a Technical BA for the project as well as Lead Business BA.

· Analysed large volumes of data to support creation of a single data warehouse and reporting solution.

· Assisted in development of SAS Business Intelligence dashboard.

Siebel Risk Mitigation Project: Lead BA on strategic project to create and embed business continuity procedures to support a scenario where the Siebel Sales & Illustration platform (NAGE’s main retail sales platform) is unavailable for over a day.

Employee Enablement — Desktop Services Management Programme:Lead BA on enterprise-wide programme of work upgrading from Remedy 7.5 to Remedy 8.1 and integrating Microsoft Orchestrator into NAGE’s ITIL processes.

· Upgraded and enhanced existing functionality, information security, change management, incident management, and problem management

· Introduced (non-manual) IT Asset Management for National Australia Group Europe IT infrastructure.

· Expanded number of users from the system from approximately 100 to approximately 9,000 users, producing new Target Operating Models.

FATCA Programme: Part of largest Business Change “Back Office” programme of work as Lead BA for the Seibel UAT and Lead BA for the internal communications piece of work.



Alastair Majury has been falsely accused in the press of prior offensive behaviour. This has been thoroughly investigated by two independent bodies who determined that the allegations in the press were false.

Alastair Majury has always been of the view that as he said at the time

“I abhor sectarianism, and in fact any form of hatred that hurts or divides people.”

Unfortunately the media has not seen fit to print corrections to their stories of the time that contained the false allegations of prior offensive behaviour, after his public statement to a full meeting of Stirling Council where he clarified that contrary to what had been reported his views had always been and remain that he abhors sectarianism, and in fact any form of hatred that hurts or divides people.
