I started Martial Arts at the age of 5 with my Uncle William L. Kebort. I continued with Dan Genovese in Kempo and eventually Shotokan with Rick Johnson. I was a child that was bullied along with my little brother because my mother was blind and my dad sustained a brain injury at a young age. My brother had some disabilities himself. My brother and I weren't always well dressed or best looking either. We were too, say the least, easy targets for bullies. My uncle started teaching my brother and me to protect ourselves from the bullies that were tormenting us. Uncle Bill learned Martial Arts during his time in the Military. He taught me the
importance of self-discipline & control. I am now involved in Martial Arts for my well-being and to improve the well-being of others.

As a kid and young adult, I had a lot of people looking out for me. I have learned to put others first thanks to his influence, the influence of Bob Servis, my own family, foster family, and friends. On March 13th, 2018, I donated my kidney to a complete stranger in honor of my brother.

Personal Achievements
I hold an 8th Dan Black Belt in Shotokan Karate becoming the only female to earn that rank at my instructor's Dojo.

MAJOR ACHIEVEMENTS
I have won in Black Belt Divisions, 9 World Championships (5 Kata & 4 Sparring); 2 US Open Championships (1 Kata / 1 Sparring), a National Championship in Self-Defense and a Grand National Championship in Continuous Sparring! On November 10th, 2018, I received the Who’s Who In The Martial Arts Elite The Women’s Budo Warrior Award from Ni-Dai Soke Michael DePasquale Jr. On November 16, 2019, I received the Martial Arts University Women’s Warrior Hall Of Honor Award also from Soke Michael DePasquale, Jr. On March 6, 2020, I received the 2020 Bruce Lee & Arnold Legend Of Martial Arts Hall Of Honor Arnold Legend Master Instructor Dedication Award.
