DALLAS, TX - December 21, 2020-- Black Diamond client, Erick Evans, inked a new contract with the West Texas Buccaneers in El Paso, TX. The Buccaneers are part of the American Arena League (AAL) and will begin their season in March, Covid permitting. Evans will be moving to El Paso from his hometown in Dallas to start his dream of playing football professionally.
Evans started his football career by playing in college at the University of North Texas (UNT) for the Mean Green as a running back. After his first year at UNT, Evans decided to follow his dream at Tennessee State University. As his college career came to an end, he continued to train and become a better player while waiting for the call from the West Texas Buccaneers.
“I am so excited and blessed to be signing with the West Texas Buccaneers,” said Evans. I want to thank Coach Thomas and the Buccaneer Organization for bringing me in. I also want to thank all my friends and family who have supported me. Lastly, a special thanks to my agent Brandy and the Black Diamond family for their tremendous support!”
Despite the struggles of Covid-19, the Buccaneers have managed to continue tryouts and recruit many talented players. Evans will join the team when camp starts in February and will put it all out on the field, when their first game comes in March.
