(Aurora, CO) Free agent football player, Keontae Edwards, has been working his whole life to fulfill his dream of playing in the NFL. With pro-days cancelled all across the country, it has put a huge damper on free agents everywhere. This year may have proven to be one obstacle after another, but Keontae has not let it define his pursuit to play football professionally. While most people would see this as an impossible situation, Keontae views it as a wall with a door built into it. Not unsurpassable to those willing to work through it.
Keontae has used the Covid shutdown as an opportunity to put even more time and effort into his training and cultivation of his craft. He has used the challenges to fuel his will to gain even the smallest edge over his competition, working longer hours in the gym and pushing his body to new limits. He feels that he is even more ready than ever to take on his competition and earn a position on a new team. If anything, he has viewed this pandemic as a gift of time to do even more to reach his goals.
Keontae Edwards has also used this time to meditate & reflect, to really explore all the things he has to be thankful for. Most importantly, he is thankful for his life and all the knowledge he has learned and gained from it. Keontae has had his ups and downs, just like the rest of us, but says, “Even though I’ve faced some good and bad times throughout my career, not once have I given up on myself and the reward for that has shown.”
This year has shown Keontae how important his family is and to never take them for granted. He looks forward to being with them this Thanksgiving, enjoying the home-cooked meal he helps prepare, the conversations & laughter, and of course, football.
