Bronx Bomber Blues at Yankees Spring Training

New York Yankees Route Tampa Bay Rays 8 to 5 Tyler Wade & Luke Voit Power Yankees Win

Port Charlotte, FL  February 24, 2019. In Sundays Yankees Breaking News Pitcher Jonathan Loaisiga aka Johnny Lasagna pitched 2 solid innings gaining a win in his first spring start of  the New York Yankees spring training season, Tyer Wade went three for three with one RBI, Luke Voit batted two for four with a three-run-homer plus four RBI's and Matt Lipka added a two-run HR shot as the New York Yankees pounded out an 8 to 5 victory over the Tampa Bay Rays in MLB Spring Training Action in Port Charlotte Sports Park. The game featured plenty of offensive action to the 6,124 announced fans in attendance under 80 degrees partly cloudy skies.

Tampa Bay Rays pitcher 6'8" Tyler Glassnow started for the Tampa Bay Rays was roughed up in 1.2 innings giving up 3 hits 2 earned runs absorbed the loss for the Rays.  Tampa Bay Rays batters countered with their own offensive power as Center Fielder Austin Meadows,  Outfielder Jason Coats,  Shortstop Willie Adames, and Catcher Mike Zunino all combined for a total of 4 home runs to pace Tampa Bay Rays offense. In the end, the New York Yankees maintained their lead throughout the ballgame with Yankees young pitching left-hander Stephan Tarpley recorded his first save of the spring by closing out the 9th inning with no runs on just 1 hit.

The Yankees under 2nd Year Manager Aaron Boone's direction the Yankees powered out a convincing offensive performance even without the anticipated signings of free agents Manny Machado or still unsigned Bryce Harper to disappointed Yankee fans, nor did the Yankees have power hitters Aaron Judge or Giancarlo Stanton in the game in front of the Bronx Bomber Blues staff viewing the  spring training contest.

Part of that reporting staff includes Bronx Bomber Blues creator R.J. Suitor  "There is nothing more enjoyable during the coldest days in the U.S. than being a roving reporter with the opportunity to travel down in sunny Florida to cover MLB Spring Training Baseball." Suitor went on to say " Ever Since the days of Bronx Bomber Babe Ruth, spring training has that special anticipation of excitement that spring is just around the corner and with the change in seasons comes to Major League Baseball."   "This is when a number of lucky baseball sports reporters, ballplayers and team staff all mix together to enjoy the mild weather plus take in a good ballgame. Any way you dice it a Yankee victory is good news even if it is just a spring training exhibition game. The Bronx Bombers were sure had their bats swinging in the spring training contest today."

Bronx Bomber Blues sports news staff it is no different than the rest of the spring training sports reporters recording the game action scores by traveling from the current  Bronx Bomber Blues and New York Yankees Tampa base of operations.  Bronx Bomber Blues baseball reporting staff left Tampa to enjoy an afternoon game of spring baseball in beautiful Charlotte Sports Park in Port Charlotte Fl.  Ironically Port Charlotte, not Tampa Bay is the spring training home of the Tampa Bay Rays MLB franchise, while the Yankees maintain their spring training base of Tampa, Fl.

The New York Yankees next scheduled game is scheduled for Monday, February 25th  in Tampa to host the Toronto Blue Jays while Tampa Bay Rays will play host to the Miami Marlins in Port Charlotte.
