Respected Activist Greshun De Bouse: Shreveport Police Misconduct, Resource Misuse

October 13, 2021, ENN

Shreveport, LA-It's the third largest city in the state of Louisiana, also known for it's high rate of gun violence. In fact, according to Edward Shihadeh,

an expert on criminology at the Department of Sociology at the Louisiana State University, "Shreveport is one of the top three highest crime cities in America."  Why then does the Shreveport Police Department continue to waste time and resources by dispatching unnecessary amounts and caliber of law enforcement personnel to calls that do not require this?  This is exactly what Respected Global Leader and Activist Greshun De Bouse asked on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.  De Bouse alleges she had been harassed at a Shreveport hotel by the owner/s/GM, and housekeepers, and GM Vimal Patel attempted to steal her funds.  This prompted a call to SPD and De Bouse states at least seven or more officers showed up at the call-including an unnecessary negotiator and supervisor, and the first officer on scene put her finger in De Bouse's face twice according to a spokesperson for De Bouse.

Activist De Bouse, also a respected researcher and community behaviorist, says her observation and assessment of SPD as a whole over that past three years is that officers are "generally indolent and exhibit deficiency in training and skill to efficaciously address various categories of crime"-something she says she previously has conversed with current Shreveport mayor Perkins about and met with the two previous police chiefs Crump and Raymond about in an effort to reduce violent crime in the city.

You may recall Activist De Bouse working with SPD to idendify SPD training deficiencies and implement Shreveport crime reduction solutions as far back as 2018.  Also in 2018, Activist De Bouse implemented an initiative through her organization to teach Black male teens how to appropriately interact with police officers during traffic stops, to reduce unnecessary killing of teen Black male drivers  by unskilled Shreveport Police Officers which was a problem at the time.  Her initiative currently is being modeled by other U.S. cities and states.

A spokesperson for  De Bouse says neighborhood association heads-specifically the Cedar Grove Neighborhood Association-would contact her repeatedly concerning the lack of or delayed response by SPD to neighborhood shootings, and one elderly female Cedar Grove resident states how she is on the floor in her living room nightly dodging bullets.

We also learned that a close relative of Activist De Bouse-23-year-old-Javoris De Bouse-was shot to death in this same Shreveport Cedar Grove neighborhood just two months ago on August 12.

A spokesperson for De Bouse says "The bottom line is SPD misused and overused time, resources and manpower for the call involving Activist De Bouse, and they committed crime against her.  Law enforcement must be held accountable for their crimes via the same system they force others to maneuver through after arrest.  Justice will be served in this case of Activist De Bouse who has made such a positive impact on the world."
