Winners Announced For First Annual Houston Live.TV© Songwriter Competition

May 13, 2019 - Houston Live.TV announced the winners today for their First Annual Houston Live.TV Songwriter Competition and Benefit Concert hosted at JP Hops House, a local venue known for supporting local songwriters.  Houston Live.TV is a songwriter competition and benefit concert to support the Greater Houston Area songwriter community and animal rescue.

Liz Bailey took the top spot with her song "Home" winning $1,000, vocal coaching with Tom McKinney best known for his work with Beyonce, free passes to Springboard Memphis and Songwriter Bootcamp, free studio time with Anarchy Studios Houston. Alex Coba won second place with his performance of his original song "Lightning," winning $500, free passes to Springboard Memphis and Songwriter Bootcamp and Kim Solem with her song "In the Mood" winning $250 and also receiving free passes to Springboard Memphis and Songwriter Bootcamp.

Houston Live.TV received over 68 entries in this first year's competition, and all of the songwriters who submitted are receiving 50% off studio fees with Anarchy Studios Houston.

The youngest to perform was 12 year old Abbi Lynn who was selected as the wild card entry for the competition and received a standing ovation from the crowd and judges for her ability to get back on stage after stopping during her first performance.

The entire program including the songwriters panels, songwriter competition and the benefit concert featuring judges Sarah Golden and Brian Kalinec along with performances from most of the songwriters who entered was live streamed on the HoustonLive.TV Youtube channel. In addition to giving back to the performing songwriter community, Houston Live.TV is committed to giving back to animal rescue and raised over $1,000 for Belles Buds Animal Rescue on Saturday.
