Jane Rubin — Paints and Draws Motion

View art at janefirst.com

In 1998, Jane began drawing and painting male athletes during New York City basketball games. She has drawn and painted while performing live at the West 4th Pro Basketball Tournament and at other well-known Pro Tournaments from 1998 - 2019. Jane also painted and drew "in performance" at Yankee Stadium from 2006 - 2012.

Jane can draw and paint motion in real time due to her own athletic coordination and muscle memory.

Dance was Jane's first art form. In early childhood her coordination was noticed. She was put in a ballet class taught by a member of The National Ballet who lived in her hometown of York, PA. Jane was being coached towards a professional dance career; however, the ballet coach retired in Jane's pre-teens. As there was no place to continue with dance, in York, Jane's focus became Visual Art.
