Jenny Quay Bio

Written by Dominic Sanzone

Biography on Lavalove's lead guitarist, Jenny Quay, written by Dominic Sanzone.

A few days ago I had the honor of sitting down with the one and only Jennifer Quay. We went in for a deep dive in her way of music. I had lots of fun talking to her, who is the most genuine, down to earth young lady I've met. During this time of the Pandemic we are trying to get to the people and refresh our news on them. Jenny has always been a fun person to get to know.
Jenny is a busy woman and I needed to know what she was up to during all this time since our last chat. She's currently a student at Musicians Institute in Los Angeles, California. As she's always wanted she's playing lead guitar for the band Lavalove. Lavalove is a skate, cruise, beach day band. They push for the grooviest of tones and hope to be coming out of quarantine with some shows. She has always been a Lo-Fi music lover and even comes to playing like one of her idols, Mac Demarco. Known for his unorthodox playing and musicality. She loves putting out music with the “chillest” of vibes. Her love for songwriting and lyrics are immeasurable. She loves the process of songwriting and wants to write music with everyone who has the drive to do so as well.
Knowing music was the main topic in our last story, so we went for the big stuff. I wanted to know what kind of life she was living before music. Jenny was born and raised in Altadena California, she grew to love animals and even took to becoming vegan and vegetarian. She went through all the non-animal acts of consumption. When she became older she went on tour with PETA for three months, traveling the country and spreading their message. She had a career with them and then something ticked, she had always wanted to try music.
Jenny has a lot planned after the Pandemic releases her. She has been thinking about being a solo artist, she's hesitant but has amazing material up her sleeve. The plan for her is to help and market LavaLove. She wants to be able to get out and plant as much as possible. While writing for LavaLove she will be trying to find other fellow musicians in need for a guitar player and a songwriter. Jenny wants to play, and that's all she wants to do. “The money would be nice, but I’m in it for the feel.” Through being a student at MI, she has come into contact with a few individuals who she is very interested in working with in the near future.
I can not what is coming next for Miss Jennifer Quay, it was a pleasure.
