Experience Skip Hartzell’s Dogs At “The Satellite” Pop-Up Space At CityPlace Presented By The Cultural Council Of Palm Beach County

Collectors, art aficionados and dog lovers alike are enjoying Skip Hartzell’s Dogs at CityPlace in West Palm Beach. The artist has works on view in the “The Satellite” pop-up exhibition at the WPB Collective space through the Spring of 2019.

Experience Skip Hartzell’s Dogs at CityPlace in West Palm Beach where the Cultural Council of Palm Beach County presents “The Satellite” pop-up exhibition on view through the Spring of 2019. The exhibit is called 'Reimagine' and features several selected Palm Beach artists being showcased at the WPB Collective space at CityPlace. The space includes a visitor information center, an art and design lecture series and special events and programming from local cultural organizations, located at 701 S. Rosemary Avenue, Suite 116 in West Palm Beach, Florida (just off the main plaza).

South Florida "dog artist" Skip Hartzell‘s passion and love of dogs in unlimited configurations are joined in his paintings, works on paper and four-legged sculptures. His inspiration comes in the form of a morning walk, accompanied by a furry friend. The artwork he creates of man’s best friend are figments of his artistic imagination and creative vision. Hartzell creates directly from his emotions and instincts, his work is inspired by dogs of all shapes, sizes and varieties. The artist creates large paintings and works on paper that capture the essence of “dog”. He is best known for his unique sculptures recognized immediately by their distinct form and style that only Hartzell can produce.

Visitors will delight in Skip Hartzell’s Dogs at CityPlace during the 'Reimagine' exhibition along with several notable Palm Beach artists. The exhibit featiures Project Space (ongoing, Tim D. Carter), Foundations (2012, Miroslav Antic; Amy Broderick; Bruce Helander; and Carol Prusa), The Florida Room (2014, Stephen Mooney), Monochrome (2014, Joel Cohen; Mark Forman; Stephen Futej; and Mimie Langlois), Paws & Claws: Animals in Art (2014-2015, Anthony Burks; Virginia Fifield; Skip Hartzell; Yvonne Parker; and Karla Walter), and the Dina Baker Fund for Mature Female Artists Grantee: Selected Paintings from Debra Yates (2018, Debra Yates).

“I chose these artists and vignettes because each one has a unique place in the Council’s history,” said Nichole Hickey, manager of artist services and the show’s curator. “CityPlace is the perfect location to bring these selections because it provides local artists with important exposure to guests from around the world. I’m excited to showcase the Council’s work in this new, creative way.” This is the first pop-up exhibition by The Council since it moved into its Lake Worth headquarters in 2012. All artwork in the show is for sale and benefits artists in Palm Beach County.
