Game earnings of € 50.000 invested in solar energy in East Africa.

The Battle of Polytopia's in-game revenue earnings has now generated its first investment.

The Swedish game developer Midjiwan, who allocates some of its profits in loans to solar energy companies in developing countries, has now invested €50.000 as part of the acquisition of 30,000 solar energy systems for home use. The facilities will be sold to residents outside the electricity grid in Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania.

It is estimated that these systems will reach over 100,000 people and reduce CO2 emissions by 23,000 tonnes only during the first two years.

The investment is made through the Swedish company Trine. All investments through Trine meet sustainable development goals, which were formed by the UN Development Program (UNDP)

In the game, The Battle of Polytopia,  you can buy different tribes, one of them are named the Zebasi. All profits from the sale of Zebasi tribes are invested in solar energy projects. Midjiwan will continue to invest in new energy projects from these profits.

Midjiwan AB is an independent game developer based in Stockholm, Sweden. The company released the Battle of Polytopia 2016 and have been installed millions times by players all over the world.
