Police Review Board Establishment Lead by Greshun De Bouse Could Be Underway in Shreveport, LA

Respected and beloved community leader, Greshun De Bouse, equipped with expertise and objectivity to lead the first Police Review Board in Shreveport, LA

Respected and beloved community leader, national advocacy holiday founder, and equality advocate Greshun De Bouse is "making the first move" as her much-celebrated national advocacy holiday promotes, to establish a Police Review Board in Shreveport, LA.  De Bouse states, "Such board establishment has been demanded my many Shreveport, LA residents who expressed disdain for what they contend is the lack of Shreveport Police Department (SPD) accountability in unwarranted killing of Black/African-American residents."
De Bouse further contends "An independent  system of accountability or checks and balances if you will, must be in place to ensure equality for all.  This is not about police bashing or resident bashing.  This is about equality."
Whether or not she accepts the call from many residents to serve as Chairperson of the Board, Greshun De Bouse is more than qualified to serve in this capacity.  In addition to her education in behavioral sciences, counseling, positive neuropsychology, and  criminal justice to name a few, Greshun De Bouse is a researcher/analyst who has thoroughly researched what a successful, unbiased  Police Review Board entails, has received concurrence from Wallethub Analyst whose recent study findings indicate Louisiana has among the highest crime rates and civilian fatality rates in the nation on the potential efficacy of Board establishment, has connections to a plethora of appropriately qualified persons to assist her in this endeavor, and plus she is successfully experienced in conflict resolution and mediation-both of which require an unbiased mindset with unwaivering objectivity.
Though Shreveport Police Chief Ben Raymond contends  "escalation of force should only be in response to the actions of the suspects we encounter," (personal communication, May 15, 2019), many Shreveport residents contend the force used by SPD toward multiple Black/African-American Shreveportians has been unwarranted.  Thus, De Bouse contends "We must have an independent Board to which residents may request review of what they consider misconduct in a particular case, and said Board must have its own investigative team, authority to subpoena, and confidence their final decision on disciplinary action (if applicable) will have merit."  In addition, De Bouse asserts "Many persons speak from decision-making jaded emotion, but members if the Board must be impartial with a goal of equality for all."  Greshun De Bouse currently provides de-escalation training to youth and parents on proper police interactions during traffic stops, questioning, and other situations in an effort to reduce needless contributions to the already high police and citizen fatality rates according to a recent study.  Shreveport Police Chief, Ben Raymond contends "each of our commissioned officers are attending de-escalation training during their annual in-service this year,"(personal communication, May 15, 2019), which may be beneficial if training is retained and applied appropriately.  Ultimately, an independent Police Review Board is in the best interest of all when such Board is comprised of objective thinkers from various professions-including but not limited to  social services, the Bar Association, mediators, those experienced in criminal justice, and more.  Greshun De Bouse states "I don't like to bring ethnicity into the equation because I believe in equality for all-irrespective of ethnicity and/or other differences.  However, many Shreveport residents have expressed concern for what they contend is repeated, unwarranted and unreprimanded treatment of a particular ethnic group, and such concerns deserve attention." Greshun De Bouse implores all Shreveportians to work in concert toward the most expedient and efficacious Board establishment. #greshun
