Audra Nicole Davison, a prolific author and filmmaker, has earned international recognition with her documentary short, which is now an Official Selection for the Tokyo International Short Film Festival.
Audra is a four-time self-published author and filmmaker based out of Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Spelman College in 2022. While at Spelman, Audra developed several short films with her classmates. In January 2021, she produced her first film on her own, entitled Green. Green is a documentary that Audra developed virtually during the pandemic. Green is a term used to describe someone who lacks certain life experiences and may be considered innocent or naive. After being called green by someone, Audra decided to connect it with her suburban upbringing to determine if the idea of being green correlated with how she was raised. In the documentary, after Audra provides her perspective on what she thinks it means to be green, she invites some of her friends to engage in a Zoom discussion about living in Black American suburbia.
Three years after producing Green, Audra was contacted directly by the Co-director of the Tokyo International Short Film Festival (TISFF) about officially selecting the film for their festival.

In the Summer of 2021, while still at Spelman, Audra received a grant from META (formerly Facebook) and the Blackhouse Foundation to produce her animated short film, The Hale Academy. This project explores African spirituality and centers around students at a magical Historically Black College (HBCU). The Hale Academy short film is now available to stream on Amazon’s Prime Video.
Audra is expected to graduate with her MFA in Narrative Media Writing from the University of Georgia (UGA) this August 2024. During her time at UGA, she wrote a short film script entitled Chronically Online. Recently, Audra produced, directed, and edited Chronically Online. The film explores the socio-economic effects of social media on creative individuals. Chronically Online is currently moving through the film festival circuit and is an Official Selection for The Film Collective Short Film Festival and the Direct Monthly Online Film Festival.
