Hollywood Honors a Legend: Bill Duke to Receive Star on the Walk of Fame
Kickstarter Campaign Launches August 1st to Support the Ceremony
Los Angeles, CA — Hollywood icon Bill Duke—celebrated actor, director, author, and trailblazer—is set to receive one of the entertainment industry’s highest honors: a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
With a career spanning over five decades, Duke is renowned for his powerful performances in cinematic classics such as Predator, Menace II Society, and American Gigolo, as well as his acclaimed directing work in Deep Cover, Sister Act 2, and A Rage in Harlem. His visual storytelling has left an undeniable mark on American film and television.
Duke's commitment to mentorship is equally profound. Through the Bill Duke Acting Boot Camps, he has championed aspiring actors, including Academy Award nominee Taraji P. Henson, offering guidance and training that have helped launch and elevate numerous careers. His dedication to nurturing Black talent in Hollywood has made him a respected and beloved figure in the industry.
In recognition of his groundbreaking work and lifelong dedication to the arts, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has officially selected Bill Duke to receive a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. To support this milestone event, a Kickstarter campaign will launch on August 1, 2025.
