The one-year anniversary of The Never Forget the Heroes Act reminds us of the sacrifices that thousands of families and first responders made on September 11th, 2001. The law permanently funds the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (VCF) which was due to run out of funding in December. With funding now restored, over $6.8 billion in compensation has been awarded to victims and their families in the past year. In addition to evaluating 39,668 new cases, 1700 previously reduced awards have now been fully compensated. The Never Forget the Heroes Act ensures that there will always be resources for the heroes who continue to be affected by that day. Read more at 911benefits.com.
