The core of this initiative is focused on raising money to send sneakers to kids that have been a victim of bullying or struggle to buy cool sneakers. Based on this gesture, the hope is this little action makes them smile and brings a little light into their world. This initiative has raised enough money and support, along with Dr. C’s own funds to continue making kids across the country smile when they are having a bad day, especially during this tragic pandemic. Bullying is a pervasive problem today and kids take the biggest hit. Here are some of the messages he has received……..
“This is so awesome, I was bullied since middle school, and getting these sneakers, just made my day.” Ella Ferris.
“I just can't believe anyone would send me new sneakers.” No one has ever done anything so nice for me!” Kyle Miale.
This foundation is near and dear to Dr. Cerullo’s heart because he too was a victim of bullying when he was growing up. He is well-aware of what it feels like to not have the coolest sneakers or clothes, the latest iPhone, or the next big trend. This initiative was created as a way to make these kids feel special and to let them know that they are not alone. If you would like to nominate a child that you feel needs a SMILE brought back to their face or would like to donate to the cause, you can send us your story. Dr. Claudio V. Cerullo established teachantibullying.org, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 2011 to serve children and families who have been or are being affected by bullying. This organization came about as Dr. Cerullo was a victim himself. In the words of Dr. C, “Use your smile to change the world; don’t let the world change your smile.”
