Baby Yogi Club is a five week course for parents and babies. This course is great for mothers recovering from giving birth / coming back to their yoga practice, and incorporates safe asana practice with restorative movement, breath work and relaxation. It’s also great for dads/partners, who will enjoy and benefit from a slow, sweet practice and hanging out with the baby just as well.
Each class will also feature baby massage, so not only will you get to bond with your baby and pick up some ideas to use at home, but both you and your little one will be stretched out and relaxed by the end.
Babies are also the best teachers, so your practice can be baby-lead, based on your little buddy’s needs to nurse, nap, or have a nappy change. This is a safe space for all parents/caregivers. All you need to bring is yourself, your baby and a blanket for them to hang out on.
The course features:
- postnatal practice for reconnecting to the pelvic floor
- safe poses for rekindling the core and strengthening the abdominal muscles
- pranayama breathwork for parents
- heart-openers and stretches for the upper back and shoulders, i.e. the baby-carrying muscles
- themed, gentle standing sequences
- meditation, with or without baby
- baby massage, with tips for a home baby massage practice
You’re welcome to join the course any time after a month from giving birth, variations on poses will be offered according to your recovery and general feeling. The course is predominantly in English, but Finnish guidance is always available.
When: Wednesdays 14-15.15 on 16.1., 23.1., 30.1., 6.2. & 13.2.
