Stars Football moves into permanent home at the College of the Holy Child in Hastings

Stars Football has moved into a new permanent home at the College of the Holy Child in Hastings, partnering with the existing owners to deliver their high quality short and long-term football programs in a stunning student friendly historic setting.

Director of football at www.Starsfootball.co.uk, Daryl Willard said the move provides a fantastic facility for the Stars Football Academy to grow. He said, ‘The fabulous football pitches on site and the extra green space enables our players to grow and develop. Crucially it enables us to control our environment for the players and to maximise their progression and success in football’.
Stars Football is a South East UK Football Academy that combines education with high quality football training. Their philosophy is for their short and long term students to have an opportunity to ‘Live Like a PRO’ and find their potential and level in soccer. At the end of the course players progress into further education or professional football across Europe.
The College of the Holy Child is a language school with a big reputation having operated from their beautiful secure campus in Hastings for the last 42 years providing language school courses and their hugely popular Summer School. College of the Holy Child will continue to operate all its existing low season and summer programs. The College of the Holy Child is located at the site of a former convent which became a boarding school in the mid 20th Century until the current owners acquired the site in 1976 and the original school moved to the parent campus in Mayfield, E Sussex.
The accommodation on site can hold up to 500 students and staff in comfort and has great facilities including a heated swimming pool, gymnasium, over 40 classrooms, tennis court, football pitches, gardens, regal dining rooms and historic ‘Harry Potter Hogwarts style’ Library amongst many other stunning features and facilities. The crowning glory is the early 19th Century Augustus Pugin and son designed private Chapel with glorious detailing and imposing presence in the centre of the campus.
Simon Wentworth the Program Director for Stars Football said, ‘The facility is purpose built for our needs. It allows us to grow our short and long term offering in partnership with the College of the Holy Child who have a fantastic 42 year track record. Stars Football Academy will deliver its robust soccer programs from the site year round. We are recruiting for our September 2018 football intake now and can accommodate short and long term groups and individuals 52 weeks a year. Our partnership helps the current owners to secure the future of the site as a centre of education for years to come. We couldn’t be happier to have our specialist football academy on site. ’
