Curated and mixed by SupaEarth Records boss Ruff Diamond, Boogie Boogie Beach Volume One, the debut LP for the label, is a sun-drenched collection of pure vibes Nu-Disco tracks taking you on a Balearic groove journey from afternoon right through to sunset.
Inspired by the magical beach and poolside parties in Ibiza and beyond, Ruff Diamond selected a supreme team of Nu-Disco producers from around the world, combining influences from West Coast Boogie Funk and Classic South American Latin sounds, to European Disco, House and Chilled Soulful grooves, bringing their talents together to make a compilation album that plays effortlessly from start to finish, keeping you chilled, excited and constantly grooving away.
Ruff Diamond explains how the project came to fruition: ‘I kinda knew what I would love to hear and experience myself on this type of curation, I felt it had to take you on a journey that has changes in tempo and dynamics, but feels good all the way, an album that you can’t put down, which is something we haven’t really seen in abundance since the Fleetwood Mac era. Through my network in the scene, I reached out to a number of DJs and producers who I had already worked with or was connected to, in addition to some other Artists that I highly respect and wanted to work with, providing them all with a specific brief in terms of the vibe and feel of what I wanted to achieve. We were overwhelmed with some brilliant submissions and eventually fathomed it down to fifteen tracks that went together perfectly to fit the bill. I worked with everyone on getting the final mixes and productions into shape, produced ‘Run To Benirrás’ (a mid-tempo track encapturing an emotional acoustic guitar and vocal hook going into a euphoric heavy Italo bass drop as the sun goes down) as my own submission for the project, and commissioned (regular SupaEarth contributor and friend) Mike McGuinness (aka Lempo) to create the artwork and visual concept, then sent the album mixes to Zoran Jurisic at MK Mastering Studio to work his magic. Boogie Boogie Beach Volume One was born’.
Artists featured on the album are Rozz Fitz, Chuggin Edits, JB Dizzy, Sweetooth, Rayko, RobJamWeb, Ruff Diamond, Frank Virgilio, Cuz Electric, Disco Dandies, Dave Leatherman & Bruce Nolan, Manuel Costela, Sould Out & Rob Castillo, Bobsi and C. Da Afro, with a continuous DJ mix also provided by Ruff Diamond.
