Hosted by Hawaiian Inter-Club Council of Southern California (HICCSC), the event is held annually on the third weekend in July and is the largest Hawaiian Festival in Southern California. Enjoy continuous Polynesian entertainment, arts & crafts, games, island-style foods, drawings and prizes. Come together each year to share in that spirit we call Aloha
About the protests: Thousands of protectors including Native Hawaiian community members, their elders (kupuna) and others have been gathering on the road leading to the summit of Mauna Kea on Hawaii's Big Island to challenge the addition of another telescopic facility to the mountain that is sacred to native Hawaiians. Activists have fought the telescope for years in the courts and on the streets for years, but the latest protest could be their final stand as they run out of legal options. The state Supreme Court has given the green light to the project that would put one of the world’s most powerful telescopes atop Mauna Kea on the Big Island.
