Activist Greshun De Bouse, Youngest Juneteenth Federalization Pioneer, Comments

Nationwide-Global Activist Greshun De Bouse is the youngest of three major pioneers of Juneteenth Federalization-the other two being Lula Briggs and Opal Lee. It has been three years since the tireless work of Global Activist Greshun De Bouse-Queen of Juneteenth, and of course Opal Lee-Grandmother of Juneteenth, saw their tireless efforts payoff via Joe Biden’s declaration of Juneteenth as a Federal holiday in 2021. De Bouse was the impetus for Fox News coverage of the Juneteenth Business Expo in St. Petersburg, FL for the first year of Juneteenth federalization in 2021. At that time, De Bouse told Fox News the true history and meaning of Juneteenth, and recalls being alongside Opal Lee the year prior in Dallas, walking fir justice. When asked how it feels to be the youngest pioneer, De Bouse simply stated, “humbling”. Juneteenth is about the ‘good news’ of freedom to freed slaves in Texas who did not learn of their freedom until more than two years later. #activistdebouse
