Titanium Machinists Guild USA (TMG-USA) endorses Conor Lamb, a Democrat candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
February 21, 2018 - - Wooster, Ohio - - Titanium Machinists Guild USA (TMG-USA) endorses Conor Lamb, a Democrat candidate for U.S. House of Representatives in Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District.

Lamb, of Mt. Lebanon, Pennsylvania, is an attorney, former federal prosecutor, and Marine. The 18th district seat opened up with the resignation of Republican Tim Murphy last fall. Lamb’s opponent is Rick Saccone, a brazenly anti-labor state representative.

“Conor Lamb is an exciting new face for the Democrat Party,” said Dennis Guthery, Legislative Affairs Director of TMG-USA. “As an attorney, Lamb has been heavily involved in efforts to combat the opioid epidemic in Western Pennsylvania, and has led aggressive prosecutions involving opioid-related deaths, other violent crimes and drug and gun trafficking. As opiate abuse has harmed workers across America, but particularly in the tri-state region, Lamb’s actions have helped put a dent in the opioid epidemic.”

The special election for Pennsylvania’s 18th Congressional District is March 13, 2018.

With President Trump’s leadership on corporate tax cuts, machinists, engineers, and laborers are in the highest demand of the past 20 years. Western Pennsylvania’s long history as a steel manufacturing region is ripe for increased growth in steel, titanium, and related industries.

“Conor Lamb’s pledge to work towards improvements in jobs and infrastructure, affordable health care, protecting Medicare and Social Security, unions, and modern energy development are important issues for labor,” said Guthery. “Mr. Lamb will likely refile in a new congressional district once Pennsylvania redraws their districts and we expect to endorse him in the 2018 general election.”
