Actress, Tommie Tonea Stewart Returns In TVOne’s ‘Christmas Dilemma’

Saturday, Dec. 1st, 2020 * Los Angeles — ‘Tis the season to be jolly, and TVOne is setting the tone for a laugh out loud Christmas holiday movie that airs on Sunday, Dec. 6th called, ‘Christmas Dilemma’.

The film is about a newlywed couple Jay (Britt) and Monica (Hall) ’s struggle to decide which set of in-laws they should join for their first Christmas. They eventually decide against picking one family over the other. Little do they know, their decision is made for them when their families show up unannounced. Drama unfolds as their in-laws' clash, long-lost relatives decide to make an appearance, and Jay's grandmother joins the holiday festivities accompanied by her caretaker, who just happens to be Jay's gorgeous ex-girlfriend.

The film marks actress Tommie Tonea Stewart’s return to the small screen since her retirement from academia in 2019 from Alabama State University in Montgomery, AL. where she was the former dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

Perhaps best known for her recurring role as Aunt Etta Kibby in the television series In The Heat Of The Night, Stewart’s long career in film and television as an actress began professionally in 1976, and she has played in some memorable movies over the years including, ‘Mississippi Damned‘ written and directed by Tina Mabry, ‘A Time To Kill’ with Samuel L. Jackson, ‘Invasion Of The Body Snatchers’ for all of you horror fans, ‘The Rosa Parks Story’ with Angela Bassett, and she was recently seen in a cameo role in the 2017 hit film, ‘Girls Trip’ in a hilarious scene with Tiffany Haddish, and the 2018 Netflix drama, ‘Come Sunday’ with Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Stewart is excited to be a part of the ensemble cast for ’Christmas Dilemma’ starring, B.J. Britt, Rafael Castillo, Christopher B. Duncan, Brittany S. Hall, Claire Lanay, and Carl Anthony Payne, II from the comedy TV series ‘Martin’ and says this is a very funny film that will bring plenty of laughs and smiles to families for this holiday season during a year dominated by despair and grief for many due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
