OUR HISTORY

The company’s history is the history of the Rossi family and tradition of an area, the Oltrepò Pavese, in particular the Rovescala hill, where the cultivation of the vine has ancient origins. This was also demonstrated by the discovery of a parchment written by Count Anselmo, regent of the territory in 1192, stating that since the days in Rovescala there was a production of quality wines that has never stopped.
The company’s origins date back to the early 800 and it was all located in the municipality of Rovescala; the production was almost completely sold during the harvest as grape and little was the proportion vinified.

This conduction lasted for three / four generations until years’ 60, when the owners at that time, the brothers Mario and Piero Rossi, began to equip a small winery and began the sale of bottles and carboys on the Milan market and Lodi, developing then in the ’70s.
In 1980 “La Pieve” brand was born, the management of the company passed into the hands of Mario’s sons: Andrea and Fabrizio. They are beginning to organize sales by expanding your market areas and building a new winery. The company is growing, but the will and the dream of the new owners is to increase along with the size of the quality of products already at the highest level and type. The project is to be able to produce every variety and then implanting each vine in the place most suited to it.

This tradition is now continued by Ne. Ro. Wines by Fabrizio Rossi and his family.
