LOCAL PROMOTERS, BUSINESS OWNERS, ARTISTS, AND DJS, TEAM
UP WITH THE ARK OF THE CITY FOUNDATION A MIAMI BASED NON-
PROFIT 501(C)(3) TO FEED THOUSANDS OF FAMILIES IN THE WALDO /
GAINESVILLE, FLORIDA AND SURROUNDING AREAS.
The Ark of The City Foundation Presents: Waldo Appreciation Food
Giveaway to show thanks to the residents of Waldo for the city’s support
of the Easter Bowl.
Gainesville, FL (April 26, 2019) Local business owners, Mr. & Mrs. Kyle and Sarah
Green team up with the Mr. & Mrs. Terry and Sherria Elliott, Ark of the City,
Inc., a Miami based non-profit 501 (C)(3) and plan to give away food to feed
3,000 - 5,000 families in Waldo, Gainesville, and the surrounding cities with
the help of the City of Waldo, Florida DJ’s Union, Paddywhack, A.K.
Investments, Production Majors, Inc., and Breadhouse. Special thanks to
The Long Foundation, Knights Security of Gainesville, Future Business
Executives and all of our volunteers. We extend an extra special thanks to our
sponsors: Wyndham Garden Inn of Gainesville, WQRN98.3 The Voice and
QS4 Travel without them this would not be possible.
To move forward, you have to give back. This is the mindset of the people
behind the Waldo Appreciation Food Giveaway. Waldo was selected as the
location for the food drive by Mr. Green after his experience working with the
city on the Easter Bowl 2K19, a family-oriented event, and concert that took
place on Easter Sunday at Waldo Motosport. The event was originally slated to
take place at the Alachua County Fairgrounds in Gainesville but was canceled
by country officials due to alleged safety concerns surrounding the artists
performing. However, to bridge relationships, Waldo City Manager, Kim Worley
went on a limb, despite advice not to host the event, and made it happen. The
event attracted over 3,500 attendees who gathered peacefully with no issues
whatsoever. The event’s success is attributed to the excellent security and the
peaceful attendees who came out. Mr. & Mrs. Terry & Sherria Elliott are now
also now looking into dilapidated structures to revitalize the area but before the
Easter Bowl had never heard of the city of Waldo.
On Saturday, May 11th, 2019 from 10 AM - 2 PM local business owners,
event organizers, promoters, artists, DJ’s, and other volunteers will be at
Waldo City Square located at 14450 NW 148th Avenue, Waldo, FL 32694
On Saturday, May 11th, 2019 from 4 PM - 8 PM In The City of Jacksonville,
Florida Location: Impressions T’s & More 2273 W. 45th St. Jax., FL. 32209
to give food away to families they can take home and cook.
The food items will be bagged and will consist of: dry goods, canned goods,
and some meats.
The Mayor, Police Chiefs, The Fire Marshall, City Manager, and other cities,
county, and state officials have been invited to come to show their support and
speak at the event. “The more hands on the experiences, the better”, says Mr.
Kyle A. Green Sr., a Gainesville resident, business owner, and one of the main
event organizers. There will be enough food to feed 3,000 - 5,000 families so
residents of Waldo, Jacksonville and the surrounding areas are encouraged to
come as well.
