Can we Trust in our Current Reps? Dennis Bonnen & Dustin Burrows scandal escalates

The question that remains is, Can we trust our current Rep. Dustin Burrows HD83 to represent the people or will he continue to do as he has in the past?

With more and more GOP House members and Elected officials calling for Bonnen to resign, Or Burrows to resign. What is not understood is why Bonnen is the only one, that most of these elected officials are asking to resign. Burrows is as guilty in this illegal act as Bonnen is, and may even be more liable for actions, as Burrows made statements against his people and his state. Burrows should be also held to the same standard as Bonnen, and all GOP members should ask Burrows to resign as well as Bonnen.
  • The question that remains is, Can we trust our current Rep. Dustin Burrows HD83 to represent the people or will he continue to do as he has in the past?
  • Will he play along, Tell the people what they want to hear, just to make them happy.  But yet, behind closed doors in session, will he do what he wants, even if it hurts the people he represents?
  • Can we trust he will hold him to what he says?
  • Will he stand firm in giving Texas what it needs?
  • Can we trust he will continue to represent Texans, or will he represent money, and the people who contribute the most, As he has done since he was elected?
He has already admitted to hating cities and counties. he has already proved that he does not care about what people need or want.

He is endorsed by the Texas Home School Coalition, but yet he went against them in the 86th. THSC has been steadily trying to get th bill passed entitled, UIL Equal Access Bill in 2017, the 85th. But yet Burrows voted against this. going against his endorsers. he voted against bills that the THSC wanted to pass, and voted yes on bills that hurt THSC standards. He also Voted no against. Bucy's  Medicaid Expansion amendment in Texas after telling Texans he wanted to do whatever he could to help them get insurance.

He voted Nay on
April 30, 2019 HB 63 Authorizes the Decriminalization of Cannabis Possession Bill Passed

Bills he voted Yes on (which are mostly unneeded, yeah, let's carry guns in churches and schools. let's protect our children, by carrying guns)
May 21, 2019 SB 535 Authorizes Handguns on the Premises of Places of Worship Bill Passed
May 10, 2019 HB 1143 Authorizes Storage and Transportation of Firearms in School Parking Areas House
May 27, 2015 SB 11 Authorizes Concealed Carry of Firearms on College Campuses Bill Passed
Allows discrimination against same-sex marriage
April 28, 2015 SB 2065 Authorizes Religious Organizations to Decline to Perform Marriage Services Senate    Co-sponsor

This allows discrimination of LGBT Couples seeking to adopt.
May 10, 2017 HB 3859 Authorizes Child-Placement Agencies to Deny Services Based on Religion Bill Passed
March 14, 2017 HB 3859 Authorizes Child-Placement Agencies to Deny Services Based on Religion House

This tells cities what to do:
April 27, 2017 SB 4 Prohibits Sanctuary Cities Bill Passed

and his accountability record percentages say it the best:
Texas Conservative Roundtable - Positions 60%
Equality Texas - Positions 13%
 Equality Texas - Positions 7%
Texans Uniting for Reform and Freedom - Positions 70%
Empower Texans/Texans for Fiscal Responsibility - Positions 75%
Texas Conservative Roundtable - Positions 60%
NARAL Pro-Choice Texas - Positions on Reproductive Rights 0%
Environment Texas - Lifetime Scores 25%
 Environment Texas - Positions 13%
Sierra Club-Lone Star Chapter - "Legislative Scorecard" 40%
 Environment Texas - Positions 38%
Environment Texas - Lifetime Scores 38%
Texas League of Conservation Voters - Positions 43%
Texas Association of Business - "For the Record" 65%

He shows that he does not want equal rights in Texas, he wants to have open legal discrimination against LGBT individuals. he wants everyone to be armed though, even in school in the church. but he does not want equality, and he does not want constitutional rights to be enforced.

  • State Rep. Phil Stephenson (R–Wharton), who is mentioned several times as a target throughout the recording, had previously called for Bonnen’s resignation during the summer. On Wednesday he said it was State Rep. Travis Clardy (R–Nacogdoches), who is also suggested as a potential target by Bonnen during the recording, has so far stopped short of explicitly stating Bonnen must resign but expressed on Tuesday that Bonnen had done “irrevocable damage” to the Republican caucus.“time to cut the head off the snake.”

Texas is usually above board and does what’s right and that’s what leads this country to its success. It’s a sad day in Texas when we fall to this kind of politics.”
