I want to let people know what has happened at the polls during early voting from Feb 18th to Fen. 28th 2020, right here in Scurry County.
It did not personally happen to me, but it happened to friends, family, and acquaintances.
Several people have reported to me, and these are Credible sources, that when they went to vote at the polls at the Scurry County Courthouse, that the election workers violated the law.
Texas law forbids an election worker from influencing or persuading voters in any way, but a worker violated this law several days during the voting process.
Reports from all over Scurry County have come in, all stating the same thins. "when they went to vote and asked if they wanted the Democratic or Republican Ballot, when they, in turn, told the worker, 'Democrat' that worker, instead of just simply getting the Democrat Ballot ready, exclaimed 'There are no Candidates on the Democratic Ballot, you would need to vote Republican' or they would tell the voter 'the only ballot that has contested races in scurry county is Republican, so I would suggest that you vote republican' or this one 'no democrats are opposing Republicans in Scurry County, so vote Republican'"
All of which is against election laws, an election worker cannot persuade party votes, a vote for a certain candidate, or anything like that, it is also a 3rd-degree felony in the state of Texas.
Due to this happening, Several people even if they claimed Democrat, voted in the Republican primary, and they did not know it was republican until after they submitted the ballot and was told: "Thanks for voting republican" or when the voter asked why a certain candidate was not on the ballot, they were told, "you voted republican, they are on the democrat ballot" even though they had asked for the democrat ballot to begin with.
Election security is a must for elections, and when election workers persuade voters at the polls, this is not allowing free votes and a choice for the vote by the voter. This goes on in all areas of Texas, but it is here in Scurry County, and I just wanted to inform the citizens of Scurry County, what our election workers are doing.
When you go vote Tuesday, do not let them bully you into voting Republican, if you have chosen Democrat, it is your right to vote how you choose.
Sincerely,
ADPF
