The Mildred Thimes Foundation presents 'A Holly Jazzy Christmas' with Denise Thimes, Antonio Fargas, Kim Fuller and Robert Nelson

The Mildred Thimes Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer will present its annual charity fundraiser event, 'A Holly Jazzy Christmas' hosted by co-founder and renowned Jazz Vocalist Denise Thimes, on Wednesday, December 11th at the Sheldon Concert Hall, 3648 Washington Blvd, St. Louis, MO.

This year's charity concert will feature memorable Jazz and Christmas songs from Ms. Thimes featuring guest artists and fellow Jazz Vocalist ~ Kim Fuller, R&B/Jazz Vocalist ~ Robert Nelson, and a special presentation by actor ~ Antonio Fargas.

There will also be a very special guest performance from the Girls, Inc. Choir of St. Louis as well as toys and gift giveaways for the audience, provided by the board members of The Mildred Thimes Foundation. 

This work to raise awareness and help those and their families diagnosed with pancreatic cancer was started by Denise Thimes along with Johnny Furr, Jr., the former Vice President of Community Affairs at Anheuser-Busch Companies, who together established the Mildred Thimes Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer in 2012.

The foundation was named after Denise's mother, Mildred Thimes, who passed away from pancreatic cancer in 1997, during a time when knowledge about the disease was limited.

Denise serves as the Executive Director of the foundation, which consists of a fifteen-member Board of Directors. Their mission is to raise awareness about pancreatic cancer and support research efforts related to this specific type of cancer where 67 thousand Americans will be diagnosed with the disease, and their vision is to create a world where every person affected by pancreatic cancer has access to quality healthcare and basic needs.

The Mildred Thimes Foundation supports pancreatic cancer patients and their families by providing direct financial assistance for immediate necessities such as:
Assist with Hospital Care, Child Care, Educational/Financial Aid, Pharmaceutical Needs, Food/Grocery Items, and Personal Care Items.

Proceeds from this year's concert will not only ensure the continued work of The Mildred Thimes Foundation, but will also be shared with the Patient Charitable Fund of St. Louis.

Ms. Thimes is happy to bring this concert celebration of music and life during the holiday season to uplift those with pancreatic cancer, and their families who work to support one another through this journey.

For her foundational work and her accomplishments as a music virtuoso over the years, Ms. Thimes will be honored with the 2024 Woodie King, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award by the Black Repertory Theater in St. Louis.
