Humor writer says mini-features are the future of newspapers, magazines

What makes a cartoon strip, a stand-alone photo with a cutline, and a question-answer advice column memorable?
Rix Quinn claims mini-features offer two advantages: each says a lot in a few words, and each discusses one subject only.
Quinn, a former magazine editor, says most people hear radio and television news delivered in minute-long segments. “Even TV and movie scenes run only about 90 seconds each,” he adds.
Mini-features have many uses. In addition to short reports in newspapers and magazines, they can be used in corporate presentations, newsletters, e-mail messages to customers, press releases, and much more.
