Audra Davison Signs with Smith Young Talent Agency

February 20, 2022, Atlanta, GA ~ The Smith Young Talent Agency has announced the signing of Spelman College senior, Audra Davison, to represent her creative project 'Hale Academy' for a theatrical feature and streaming series project.

Davison is an English major and film minor who is a new screenwriter and was inspired to write her first screenplay after doing research on the ancient Kingdom of Kongo and the secret societies in Sierra Leone while she was a research assistant at Emory University.

Hale Academy was created with a story line that centers around Africana spirituality. The genre is comparable to 'Harry Potter' with a 'Black Panther' Afro Futurism vibe.

"Hale Academy depicts Africana mythology in a positive light in a way that has been under-explored in film and television", says Davison. During the Summer of 2021, Davison received a grant from Facebook and the Blackhouse Foundation to have her script produced into an animated short. The film premiered in December of 2021 and will screen at various film festivals throughout 2022 while developing theatrical and series prospects.

"We are excited to represent Audra here at the Smith Young Talent Agency because we see in her a talent with a vision to incorporate African American history and futurism in ways that have been vastly untapped in both film and television" says Robert Walker, the literary agent who will assist with securing a broadcast home for the project.
