Regular walkers around Cocksburn reservoir are grateful to young volunteer who has built a new bridge using wooden pallets kindly donated by Bridge of Allan’s Scotbeef Ltd, and using the long timbers from the original bridge, which was no longer usable. The bridge was secured and finished on Saturday 6th March.

This has been met with great approval by regular visitors, who have wished to express their thanks, and thanks on behalf of those who were not spry enough to jump over the feeder stream. Dog Walkers have also expressed their thanks on behalf of their four-legged friends.

The new bridge means that people can now complete the walk around the reservoir without either needing to jump over the feeder stream or turning back.

Dunblane and Bridge of Allan Councillor Alastair Majury said:

“I would like to thank the young man who took the time and effort to build this bridge, to Scotbeef for providing some of the materials, and to anyone else involved in making this happy.

I am sure that everyone who visits the Cocksburn reservoir will appreciate this new bridge, I hope that this will last a long time. I think all visitors would wish to pass on their thanks and gratitude to all of those involved.”
