Dunblane residents left without new bins after warning letters arrived too late

Letters sent to residents by Stirling Council about the rollout of new bins turned out to be a waste of time after they arrived too late.
Locals in Dunblane contacted their local councillor after receiving the letter telling them to present their brown bins for swapping - earlier the same day.

Tory councillor for Dunblane and Bridge of Allan Alastair Majury said locals had received the letters late morning and early afternoon on Monday (November 16) informing them of the replacement of their grey and brown bins.

Almost 4000 parking tickets have been issued in the first half of the year by Stirling Council despite lockdown.

Offenders on Community Payback Orders have finished their work to restore Commonwealth war graves in the Stirling area.
The project, which began in May with six graves in Dunblane Cemetery, was carried out according to the Commonwealth War Graves Commission’s guidance and saw more than 250 graves maintained.

Headstones are cleaned every two or three years on average, however can be maintained more often if necessary.
Dunblane and Bridge of Allan councillor, Alastair Majury, provided equipment to the offenders to allow the graves to be cleaned in accordances with the commission’s guidelines

New data released last week has shone a light on the state of Stirling’s roads.
A Freedom of Information request, by Dunblane and Bridge of Allan Councillor Alastair Majury, revealed there were 1972 potholes identified on Stirling’s roads this year, 1045 more than the previous year’s total of 927.
