The Enterprise Building Kicks Off Its Downtown San Bernardino Arts Celebration with E Street Alley Arts Walk

The E Street Arts Walk is one of many ongoing events sponsored by management at The Enterprise Building as part of it's Downtown San Bernardino Arts & Community Drive

June 11th, 2021 * San Bernardino, CA. -- There has been a growing number of businesses and community leaders who have taken up the revitalization and beautification for the citizens and community that are a part of a rich history in the city of San Bernardino. The Enterprise Building, which was built in 1927 and known as The Anderson Building, is a designated state landmark that was one of the many business properties hit hard during the past economic turmoil for the city that saw many businesses fold, including the Carousel Mall that is adjacent to the building and shares the same parking garage.

The new owners of the renamed Anderson Building to The Enterprise Building, came in with a desire to not only revitalize the building with all of it's wonderful architectural designs, but also to create a desire for those who live in the city and surrounding towns to once again come downtown and participate in events that help revitalize the city.

The owners felt that this is best accomplished through the Arts and that they could gather a diverse group of visual artists to paint murals on the spacious property to honor the city and its rich history. The E Street Arts Walk and Mural display was created from this mandate by the Stanly family, the new owners of The Enterprise Building, and directed by Ryan Stanly.

In a message Ryan wrote to the community who voted on visual artists to paint the murals for which there were 1,375 total voters for 16 mural submissions.

"Over the past few months, you have impressively gone from creating a design to community voting and finally finished the product!

The idea for E Street Alley was born in June of last year, and I thank you for your participation and patience; to bring this project to fruition.

Your hard work and dedication have created something inspiring for downtown San Bernadino and will not go unnoticed and unappreciated, for we are now ready for regional attention.

Together, we have completed a 97-foot wall featuring six community murals, meaning as it stands, E Street Alley is home to now the longest continuous mural wall in historic downtown San Bernardino and possibly the entire city. We will be adding another 6 feet to the wall which will be a "paint by numbers" mural where visitors can participate during the event on June 5th. It will be an expressive sign saying "E Street Alley." Thus, giving the community an opportunity to literally paint us over the edge (on the corner of the building) and to 103 feet.

Your interpretation of this great city is now on display for all to see and admire collectively, demonstrating that a project of this magnitude can be successfully completed!"

The E Street Arts Festival was held on June 5th with great success, and The Enterprise Building will be sponsoring many more events throughout the Summer of 2021 and the remainder of the year.

The Enterprise Building has 6 floors of office and suite space and will be home to a shopping and food court center (E Street Plaza, at The Enterprise Building TBA). The offices and corridors and general décor of the 1930's era are being taken into consideration to keep the essence and soul of the building with a new art deco and modern style interior. While the area around the Enterprise Building has undergone a complete change, this fine old gentlemen office building will continue to play its original role as a quality business and office facility at the focal center of the community; a fitting monument to the Andreson family for their century of service to our community.
